|Sometimes people ask me why I bother carding, blending, and spinning my own yarn. "Why go to all that trouble when you can just buy a skein at a store?"|
The reason is so much about touch and feel that it's hard to express in words. But I just discovered an artisanal yarn that both shows the power of hand preparation and eliminates the need for you to do any of it.
In fact, from a fiber and color blending perspective, Noro Transitions is the most remarkable commercial yarn I've seen this year.
In the Boutique
It's been a busy holiday season for the boutique. Our best-seller, the 2005 Year in Yarn calendar, is not only a good stocking stuffer but a wonderful year-round reminder of the beauty of our craft. Until Sunday, December 19th, order two calendars and get a third one free.

Join the Fundraiser
For December, I'm asking the Knitter's Review community to join me in a gift to the Heifer Foundation.
In the past two years we've collected over $2,000, which translates into four llamas and 12 sheep for deserving families around the world.
If you're interested in helping and are in a position to contribute this year, you can send a check or money order (payable to Heifer International), in whatever amount you can afford, to:
P.O. Box 1617
Blue Hill, ME 04614
As always, I thank you for your readership and your support. Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums!
P.S. Do you have friends who would enjoy Knitter's Review? If so, use our simple Tell a Friend form and let them know about us.
