I fell off the wagon for the last couple of weeks. The lure of a new project was too great! I am only fifty rows away from the end of the shawl, but now it takes me about ten minutes per row! But really, no excuse so let me try to get back in the ten minute groove...
Jorgalou, I think that you plan of prioritizing the items make sense. Maybe alternate between projects that require little work and the ones that are a little longer so that you regularly get a nice feeling of accomplishment. if you leave all the long projects til the end, you might feel burnt out. |

Thanks to Fran and the ten minute rule, I actually completed my dreaded raglan sweater. (Sorry, no pictures yet.) It wasn't like this was a big hard project- it was just MILES of stockinette with very little to do in the way of finishing. But it came out so cute! It's for a friend's granddaughter's birthday, and they're doing this whole Raggedy Ann thing for it. So, the sweater is candy apple red, with a white heart on the left front, and a Raggedy Ann and a Raggedy Andy button on the heart. Thanks, Fran for the ten minute rule!!

| This is helping me :) I've had a project in hibernation for over a year, a really gorgeous pinwheel sweater. I was a newish kinitter when I started it, and the idea of the sleeves terrified me so much that I put the sweater away. Now -- just a month away from brisk weather -- is a perfect time to try and finish it :) |

I had a cardigan all done - except for buttons and buttonhole finishing. It's been sitting there since the Spring.
I took 10 minutes over the weekend and it's all done! All I need now is a bit of cool weather to wear it.
As soon as I figure out how to take a photo and post it, I will. It's a cuff-to-cuff cardigan out of Berroco (discontinued) Foliage (Frans Hals colorway). I really liked Foliage and I'm sorry that it's been discontinued! |

I soooooo need this ten minute rule! I really like the idea of alternating the easy/more complicated projects. I have the back of Melissa Leapman's Spicy Fair Isle sweater finished. It has been hibernating for 2 years at least. It did not sail smoothly along as it was my first fair isle attempt but I should be able to at least figure out the sleeves. To my utter embarassment, I have not even started my KRR new beginnings project--oh the pressure! (blush) So glad this topic / idea has been brought forth! |

So glad this topic caught my eye! I finally finished the second Hedgie last night. I simply hate knitting thumbs - they're so small! I almost put the last few rows off by thought, another 10 minutes ought to finish the whole thing! And it did! They look great and now I can start a simpler version for my friend in the National Guard who caught me in a weak moment and asked me to make her a pair.

| So far so good! I have worked on two different pairs of socks and the Steam Scarf in a lovely brown tweedy looking alpaca. I am also using the 10 minutes a day rule to organize my home office! This rule makes projects less scary! |

Thanks, Fran, for a simple concept with satisfying results. With the "10 Minute Rule," I can feel as though I've managed to accomplish something every day. That's very important for my self-esteem. Thank you.

| OK, I'm in. I have a really cute sweater that has always needed a zipper but can't find one to match the yarn so I'm going to figure out a way to add buttons, ties or something and get it DONE! So, ten minutes a day before I start my evening session of knitting I will work on this project till finished. Promise. |

Thanks for the nudge towards finishing all those UFO's. My giant cardigan is almost done...hopefully this weekend! Then it's on to the stockinette portion of an Ishbel shawl - a couple more inches will get me to the fun part. Then there's the second sock that's been patiently waiting for over a year....I've done 4 inches of the leg, and there it sits.

I'm in. I have too many projects almost completed. Fuzzy feet that have been in the queue for 2 years...why do I keep complaining about cold feet in the house? A new cotton throw rub for the entrance so I stop sliding in wet shoes, sockssockssocsks, Christmas gifts. Whew! 10 minutes a day on each - here I come!

| This has turned out to be a great idea. I've finished the sweater that needed a zipper I couldn't find by knitting on bands and using buttons. I've sewn together 2 sweaters that were languishing in baskets and only have a couple to go. I'm stumped on a cable pattern (please help me with a post in the pattern section) so have some time to spend on the 10 minute drill. LOVE it. Somehow when you break a job down into smaller parts it seems do-able. |

I'm up to the double increases on my mitts. I'm knitting them two at a time on two circs. Yesterday I wasn't paying enough attention and it took me more than 10 minutes to figure out which stitches went where! :-o
Anyway, at least I feel I can finish it by the first weekend in December, maybe even sooner. And I hear my DD's felted clogs calling me- I've already started the second one. I have to admit, working on such vastly different gauges is difficult for me.

Woohoo, I finished the shawl that I started nearly two years ago! I'm going to block it this weekend and post a link to a picture later on.
Thank you Fran for the ins and outs of your ten minute rule!! |

I've been reading this thread since it started and trying to choose a project from the pile of ufo's lying about. Due to a really bad case of startitis the pile has been growing. As I dithered, more projects got started. What a dilemma! I have a pair of Hedgerow fingerless mitts underway but put them aside as the weather here turned really cold and I need hats. Then there is the Seasilk beaded lace scarf, the Polka-dot lace shawl, a pair of mitts and my husbands socks. I have finally made a choice, the first project to be selected for Fran's 10 minute rule will be my husbands socks. I'll continue to focus on the much needed hat/neckwarmer but the socks get their 10 minutes a day. I plan to work my way through the projects one at a time while I focus on getting the gift knitting done.
