I’m interested in a set of combs or mini combs suitable for fine wools.
I would prefer trade, but do have some paypal too. Will trade yarn, roving, washed but unprocessed cormo fleece (white) or rambouillet lamb's fleece (silver/gray).
As far as yarn goes I have a few different things, you can see some of them on my Ravelry page (but there are a few more things i haven't posted, including a few skeins of sock yarn):

And I am willing to do custom handspinning as well.

I'm looking for the same thing. I've noticed that the Indigo Hound combs are out of stock at various shops I've checked - same with the Forsythe combs. Very hard to find used or new. I tried bidding for a set of Forsythe combs on Ebay but wasn't fast enough.

Be careful with the Louet mini-combs, the plastic that the teeth are set into can break easily.

| Combs look easy enough to make, don't you think? Get a bit of flat stock of some sort of semi-hardwood or hardwood - heck, even some synthetic material might do. Drill holes in it with a drill press so the holes will be parallel. Insert nails which have had the tips filed into a pleasing shape and then put a bit of board behind the one with the nails in it to hole the nails in place. If you'd want, have the backer board incorporate the handle. If you can spin and knit, you'd have the manual dexterity that this should be an easy project. |
