This week's newsletter was a very special one.
It explains a yarn project I've been working on for months and months, something that's a culmination of all my work to this point.
You know I love yarn. I'm obsessed with twist and ply, with fibers and blends, with how yarns behave on the needles and in fabric. I've swatched... oh boy. I can't even count.
Over the years I've also become equally intrigued with the back story, where the fibers come from and all the people whose hands they passed through on their way to yours. And I've met some truly amazing people.
Earlier this spring, I was offered a chance to buy a very special 676-pound bale of Saxon Merino wool from Eugene Wyatt in New York. He doesn't do this often, but he trusts me, and I couldn't possibly say no.
This new yarn project of mine? It's an adventure that you and I are going to take together. It was born out of KR and is its own, entirely separate being.
I'm hugely excited, a little wobbly with butterflies, but very, very proud to share it with you.
Meet: The Great White Bale.

I am so excited by this! I joined to be an armchair member, but then my tech skills totally failed. I couldn't register, and when I went to contact to send a note for help, I tried many times and couldn't get a CAPTCHA either. 2:30 a.m. isn't my best operating time, clearly. But I still can't wait for the story to begin.

This is such an amazing journey. I signed up to be an armchair traveller (budget wouldn't let me go for the full package). Best of luck and I look forward to each adventure.

Yep, put Owl on the "I so deserve this" train, too. I won't even try to attach it to a holiday. Those who know me understand ...
More importantly: Clara, you've never failed to deliver on a worthy exploration no matter what new path I've followed you down. For you, I will put on a blindfold and let you lead because I know it's going to be a great Adventure! I would never miss this trip.

I'm not bothering to label it a Christmas or birthday present either! And I'm not going to obsess over the fact that I already have way too much yarn in my house! I'm just going to enjoy it!

Never hesitated a second deciding on this adventure. I am so looking forward to seeing how this plays out and hoping I get to attend one of the activities during the year, somewhere, anywhere. AND, there's yarn coming my way on top of all of the fun!!! Wow. Thanks, Clara!!

Hi everyone -- can I tell you how wonderful it's been to see familiar names pop up in my Bale emails, and how excited everyone is to be a part of Clara's excellent adventure? This is going to be the greatest thing since the invention of the ball winder, and I'm so pleased to be helping Clara steer the boat!
