| I'm north of Dallas, and agree. The Woolie Ewe is the best around. |

The Woolie Ewe is great, and they have great customer service. I also like the Shabby Sheep in the downtown Dallas area too. Ronda, the owner, is very friendly. They don't carry as much as the Woolie Ewe, but it is a nice shop. I am in Denton, and we have a great knitting group here. Welcome to Texas!

And when you go to Austin, (sooner or later, *everyone* goes to Austin), check out Hill Country Weavers. They have a wonderful store and are old-timers in Austin. I still have some yarn I bought there 35 years ago. (oops. forget you heard that.)
aero860, Welcome to the KR Forums! We are glad to have you here, and hope that you will enjoy the fun, information, good manners, and amazing support of this site.
Best wishes,

Thanks for the warm welcome and the information. I am having LYS withdrawal I had such high hopes in finding a yarn store in either Rockwall or Mesquite! I hope to make many new friends here.
Thanks again, Aero

Come on up to the Woolie Ewe - just a hop, skip and jump from Rockwall or Mesquite :-) (I'm in Richardson)

Hello. Any knitters in the Keller/Southlake/Westlake areas of Texas. I would love to form a local knitting group if anyone else is interested. Also-what are your favorite knitting stores in the area? Thanks! |

Me again, just to say that you *will* make many new friends, and I am not being a fortune cookie scrap of paper here: Texas folks are the friendliest around on the planet. Where else is there a road sign that says, "drive friendly" ? Don't be shy, just find the center of town and the good hangouts, and talk to your neighbors. You'll be fine, and you will find other knitters.
I know, I've been there!
Anna
