Thanks to the little writeup in the current Interweave Crochet, I discovered two pattern booklets from "Straight From Today's Designers", one for belts, and one for bags (apparently another bag volume is in the works)

I downloaded both of them, and have already whipped up two of the belts. (I love quick, satisfying projects).

And I really love the idea of self-publication and the idea of patterns going directly from designer to crafter with no editorial or corporate influences.
