Hi everyone! Is there a list of favorite online shops from this forum? That would be so helpful to know. I've come upon them by chance, and frankly have never had a bad experience - YET!
My favorites: elann.com, gotyarn.com, kyarns.com, woolneedlework.com. I just ordered from WEBS last night, so the jury is out on that one. I have also ordered successfuly from showersofflowers.com, yarnmarket.com, yarnia.com, royalyarns.com and eBay.
Since I knit scarves almost exclusively, I look for the odd ball or orphan from the sale bins. So....I am always looking for shops - online or otherwise - that offer great savings on closeouts or clearance.
Which is the BEST online store?
Thanks, Louise

I have also bought from Chez Casuelle recently, and Carla was immediately responsive to my email inquiries - especially since the package was slow to arrive. All turned out great! Thanks, I will check into the others as well. Louise

I haven't ordered from a bunch of places yet but Handpaint Heaven and Smilies Yarn were both great and quick for me

Large product line, great catalog and wonderful packaging! I'm not crazy about their website but it's ok cuz they live in NH and I can just drive there.

Amy, thank you for posting about the knitting-warehouse. I'd not heard of them before but after reading about it here, I placed an order for the Patons Classic Merino. I love how soft it is.

I love Cucumber Patch on Ebay.. she's REALLY reliable.. really inexpensive (Even with shipping from England!) and has great stuff.. especially Rowan. I've been able to knit much higher quality things thanks to her : )

I got great service from Little Knits. She found a way to reduce shipping charges from the original invoice and has great sales.

In the UK my online favourites would have to be:
http://thenaturaldyestudio.com/ http://www.laughinghens.com/ Jannette's Rare Yarns and the Yarnsweater Store (both on ebay -- they both sell in USD and have awesome deals!)
Offline it's got to be Loop in the UK, and Lettuce Knit and the Knit Cafe in Toronto, Canada. I even don't mind Romni Wools (Toronto), despite the staff being 'moody' at best....!

Imagine my surprise to see MY question in today's newsletter! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Checking these out now should keep me busy for weeks. I'll add them to my Favorites file and continue checking them from time to time.
I would value and appreciate feedback on my website (http://scarfitup.etsy.com). Have any of you used etsy - successfully - and if so, what type of marketing did you do to generate traffic and, more importantly, sales? I love the concept of a handcrafter's website, and the price is right, but I've yet to have a sale. I'm discouraged. Thank goodness for private and Blue Moon Showcase sales! So....any observations or insights would be appreciated.
Thanks, Louise
