I knitted a pair of the Knitting at Knoon's felted slippers for my daughter out of Rowan Magpie. She loves them, and they were very quick and easy. They were only the second pair of sock items I'd ever knitted.

KnitPicks just added another free pattern to their site, a felted Farmer's Market Tote. Check it out!

I really love the triangle purse from Pick up Sticks patterns and the Sophie bag from magknits. Who has made those? Does anyone have a traingle bag pattern they want to sell? I guess I can shell out $4.50 if not---it is an extremely cute pattern.

I made the Sophie this wk. Extremely easy & adorable little bag. I have "orders" from 2 friends who want me to make them one! |

I have been looking for a plain bag so it could be embroidered. The felted swirl bag might just work for me. In my past life, I threw large platters and then glazed them with a landscape design. They were fired to high temp so the glazes blended. We now live on a sail boat with teck decks (no gas fired kilns allowed.) My sister-in-law taught me to knit last year, I really enjoy it. I want to translate the designs from the clay into yarn. The felting will give that blurry look, I think entarsia(sp) would give to clear of a line diffentiation.

I thought I had found THE perfect felted bag for myself in the book Simple Knits. I followed the pattern exactly, (ok almost exactly, I changed very very minor things, like the bind-off) and instead of wide and short and very open at the top it came out widish, very tall, and smaller at the top than at the bottom. Not what I wanted at all. *sigh* That's ok I have some handles to put on it and it will be a gift for someone. :)
