I have recently noticed that one skein of a hand-dyed rug yarn is a slightly different "dye lot" than the other skeins. This may be the one skein that I missed when setting the dye in these skeins recently with vinegar because it bled so much. It looks fine in incandescent light, but the shade difference is noticeable in natural and full-spectrum lighting.

The trouble is, I am away from home right now, and I may not be able to finish the project until this skein is washed. The people I am staying with do not have stainless steel or enamel pots. They do, however, have a glass container, so I am wondering about covering the container with plastic wrap and simmering the yarn in the microwave. But how to do that? Anyone out there have a method?

Thank you!
