Hi my name is jvee2 I just joined I have been knitting since I was 6. My mother taught me the knit stitch and bought me a how to knit book, a skein of yarn and a pair of size 8 needles, she told me if I really wanted to knit I would practice and learn form the book, lots of pics in the book . I did exactly that. I love to knit it has helped me through thick and thin it is my therapy, my fun, and my go to hobby, amongst many others. I take my knitting with me always, wanted to own a yarn shop never had the opportunity. Now I am too old, that ship has sailed, no regrets. I knit instead lol. looking forward to lots of good knitting friends in this knitting community.

Welcome to the forums from Maine! Hope you enjoy the inspiration and comraderie. I also find knitting to be my therapy. Unfortunately, I recently had shoulder surgery and my stamina for knitting right now isn't great, but I do pick it up every so often and do a couple of rows. What are your favorite things to knit?

Big Wave from Chicago, When I first started knitting I said I have to open a yarn shop. I'm from a small suburb outside of Chicago and there is not a shop around. We do have a lot of knitters You will love it here, I've never met anyone here but I feel like I been knowing some of them for years. Happy Knitting Donna

Hi Joanne, glad to meet you! I'm from Baltimore, and I too learned to knit when I was little. My grandma taught me. My mom knitted, but she also sewed, and she helped me make dolls clothes. Knitting is my go to now, too, and I love it. I'm working on a pair of socks. I'm always working on a pair of socks!

To bad about the yarn shop......I can relate, I wanted to be a great singer! needless to say................

Hope you like it here, because lots of us do, and we like to welcome newcomers.

Best wishes,

Life is beautiful.

Hi Joanne,

Welcome to Knitters Review Forums from Australia.

You are never to old to do anything you want, I am close to the big 60 and it really doesn't worry me at all, although I have just turned 59, so who knows how I will feel next July.

I am so glad that knitting has been such a constant and good friend to you and I'm sure you will plenty of friends here.

Knit in peace and harmony.
