My mother taught me to knit when I was seven years old. She started me and my older sister on four needle mittens. A year or so later, I had a bizarre Barbie formal... Ten years after that, I was bored, bored, bored in school. I picked up knitting again and have not looked back.

Knitting helps me ground and focus. I can tell a day when I do not knit.

The colors and the textures of the yarn are so so many others I have SABLE....buying yarn is a whole 'nother hobby!

Last year I went on a stuffed animal tear. I usually have at least one pair of socks on the needles.

Starting with four needles! Wow, Caty, I am impressed! My grandma taught me to knit when I was small, but we started with "how to wind a ball of yarn".

Welcome to the KR Forums from Baltimore. I love to knit socks too.

Best wishes,

Life is beautiful.

Hi Catherine,

A big welcome to Knitters Review Forum from Australia.

Only in the last year or so did I finally learn how to use four needles, so your way ahead of me as I learnt how to knit on two needles and it has taken me many many years to learn.

Knit in peace and harmony.
