Really, if I said what I think about this, poor Betty would have a meltdown.

Yeah, I agree. This topic is going to heat up the closer we get to the next election.

Me, too. Words can't describe my rage. And our "leaders" in AZ are afraid that women might chose to abort because they don't like the gender or race of their babies so they've given final approval of a bill to prevent that from happening. In pushing the bill through, one of them mentioned (but didn't produce it) a purported study of Planned Parenthood that black women aborted babies 42% of the time...as if there couldn't be any other reason for the abortions (whatever the true percentage was) other than race or gender????? This state is being run by a bunch of loonies - as are many others.

Another big problem, and an insult, is that women, or girls, who are raped and impregnated are going to be forced to go through this center.
"Peggy Gibson, a Democratic state representative who voted against the measure, said the law amounted to “government intrusion into people’s medical decisions.”
“South Dakota women should not need to submit to an in-person lecture from an unqualified, noncertified, faith-based counselor or volunteer at an anti-choice crisis pregnancy center,” Ms. Gibson said."
I can't imagine the damage they are going to do with this truly stupid law.

I find this incredibly sad and incredibly dangerous.

If men could get pregnant, abortion would be an exhaulted activity. They just don't get that it's none of the government's business!!

What really bugs me is the obsession with outlawing abortion, but no interest in helping pregnant women and children who are struggling to make ends meet.
Paid maternity leave? Prenatal care? Healthcare for kids? Access to contraceptives? We can't afford that, there are bankers to bail out and corporations that need welfare.

This all sounds too much like socialism, and we all know they are really bad guys .

| Re Consuelo: In the early '70's an activist named Flo Kennedy said " If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament" or words to that effect. |

| I love Flo Kennedy! We had her as the keynote speaker at the women's festival at the University of Georgia in the fall of '74. Flo was just wonderful -brilliant and full of passion. |
