Has anyone ever hosted a "knitting" baby shower? I was thinking about giving everyone who comes yarn and needles as they walk in and having them knit either a square or a strip while at the shower. I would sew everything together and add a border after the shower. Any thoughts or suggestions?
It wouldn't work if most of the attendees don't already knit, and you'd want some alternative for potential attendees who are hard-core not-knit.
That said, I did attend a party once where a crochet circle sort of happened. The hostess was working on putting granny squares together for a local shelter, and about 1/2 dozen ladies (maybe 25% of the crowd) joined in.
