1. Weekend Knitting -- I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned this one. I love nearly every pattern in this book.
2. Last Minute Knitted Gifts -- again, indispensible for patterns.
3. Stitch n' beach: A Knitter's Design Journal. I have lots of books I use for design and math help, but this is the only one that's portable enough to go everywhere with me.

Which is the book that uses circular needles to knit a crazy kind of sweater using all the techniques you'll ever need? I'm going crazy trying to remember the name, or figure it out from the posts here. I know you know which one I mean...

My top two are Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns and the Sweater Book of Handy Patterns. As for a third, that might be hard to decide.
