Would anyone happen to know where one would buy the Urea Nitrogen mentioned for use in cold-water dyeing with the Gaywool dyes? Thank you. |

| Garden center. Or farm supply. I'm not a dyer, so I'm not sure that's the FORM of urea they're looking for, but they sure as h*ll sell it. (It's a commonly used fertilizer, though it's not as common now as it used to be) |

I used to get a bag of urea from a garden center to use as a de-icer. It's not quite as effective as salt but the run off fertilizes the grass instead of burning it.
There are also some lotins that contain urea. I always wonder where they get it from.
but hey, Premarin is horse pee.

If you are a little squeamish about using urea (which is in a dried, pellet form) do a little research on indigo dyeing! As Lanea mentioned, the old ways of dyeing are not for the faint-hearted.
