So last nite, when I had about a billion other things to do, I sat down and kitchner stitched my tank top together. There were sounds of trumpets blaring and happy cartwheels until I held it up. oops! I had twisted the design in such a way that I had twisted the straps 360 degrees. I am so glad I held it up to try it on instead of burying my thread and cutting it off.
So riiiip out the kitchner, untwist, and I am 10 sts into the kitchner again. I know I will finish it tonite, but I sure wish I had finished it last nite so it could have been blocking today!
I am sure all of this is b'c I was trying to be "cute" with the pattern. [!] Knowing that I had a very limited amount of yarn (a gift from a friend from her trip to japan) I wanted to make sure I didn't waste any yarn. Instead of knitting up the back and binding off, only to knit up the two sides of the v-neck and bind off.. and then sew the seam (and crochet the edges.. those pesky crochet, use 4 times the amount of yarn, edges.) I left the back sts live when I ran out of yarn, knit up the fronts and then down the back to meet those live sts. So I didn't waste a single drop of yarn... and twisted myself into a pickle! 
Perhaps I will be kitchener and crocheting tonite and blocking tomorrow. One can hope!

Oh I thought long and hard on this particular "design element" and I really WANTED to leave it!! But I knew it would bug me by being in my way or showing my bra strap at inopportune times!

Glad you found it the mistake and was able to fix it. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I am happy to hear things don't go horribly awry. When things like that happen I often wonder if karma prefers crochet and enjoys toying with us knitters. ;-)

oh I didn't START late at nite. I started at 6pm but it took me until 10pm to do 90 sts of kitchner.
well I finished it today. I wish I could say it looks as good as the first time I fniished. It doesn't I can see some things I don't like. I might re-rip and do it again. I am not afraid to do a little ripping!!
