Hey, I have been knitting like a mad women on a tank top in Dale Svale. I don't normally knit with Addi Turbo's tho they are indeed fast. I have knit for several hours each day when i can manage, and now as soon as I start to knit my right hand thumb is sore from it!
I think I'm going to get a thick thumb from it! Anyone else experience this from the addi's? I do prefer bamboo but these go so dang fast and well i don't always have an option when in an LYS.
I have been having to not knit so much, drives me mental!!
I thought I was the only one with this problem! I did however find a solution - a leather thimble - you can get them at hancocks- JoAnns - quilting shops - they will protect your poor thumb allowing you to knit like the crazy knitter you are!
Oy. I just bought some Addis so I'm excited to see how fast they go. But sore thumb... not looking forward to that. I do have a sore spot from knitting on smaller kneedles that is right on the outside of the first joint on my left ring finger. I guess that's where the kneedle rests and where most of my pressure is when stitching. I move my left hand more than my right.
I wonder if one of those would fix my ring finger issue (goes numb when knitting on tiny addis) I think I'll get one and see - b/c the pair of socks I knit on those are my favorites.
I have heard that when you are working on a project, you are supposed to stop and give yourself a break about every 15-20 minutes. That way you don't injure yourself.
Hope your thumb feels better soon.

Look on my blog for some nifty stick on pads. They don't interfere with your knitting but are really good at protecting your fingers. Quilters use these pads to protect their fingers from the quilting needle

I tried a bandaid, got on my nerves because I couldn't "feel" the needle as well. It's better today because last night I didn't hardly knit at all, so now I am working on a sock to give that area of my thumb a break. Silly huh? I like the idea's tho, I'll have to check some of these out next time I am at Joanns.

Ha! I scoff at conventional wisdom with my injured finger!
I'm supposed to change the needle on my sewing machine every 4 hours too.... Need I mention all the ruined fabric I've gone through?[blush][:00]
