First of all, thanks to all of you who helped me when I was trying to choose a wheel! I really appreciate all your advice.
My Kromski Symphony has been put together and I've been spinning for a couple of weeks now. I LOVE the wheel -- both it's appearance and how easily I'm able to spin. Though I didn't have the chance to try it before buying, I couldn't be happier!
Here's a pic of some Blue Faced Leicester I spun the other night. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kjp218/detail?.dir=/30da&.dnm=2cdare2.jpg&.src=ph
I'm currently spinning some generic "wool" from my spinning teacher, but looking forward to moving on to the bags of Alpaca and Merino I have waiting on me! After reading Val's post about clearing the bobbins, I want to be moving on to the "good" stuff starting the new year!

Awesome! Another great skein of yarn. I can't wait to see the Alpaca and Merino!

| Nice yarn! I tried a Symphony a few months ago. It spun well, treadled smoothly, etc. but it just didn't "fit" me. I kept knocking my knee on it no matter what position I got in. I ended up buying a Prelude instead. |

I am a beginner -- took my first lesson mid November, but didn't have a wheel until a few weeks before Christmas. I just love it and couldn't feel more at peace when spinning!
I finished off my bobbin of "wool" and will ply it tomorrow. Off to the Alpaca! Thanks so much for the compliment.

Ohmigosh, Kelli, you have been spinning about a week longer than I have and I can't believe how gorgeous your yarn is! I am seeing progress but am still seeing a lot of unintentional thick-and-thin results.

That is some beautiful looking yarn! Mine still looks like a combo of wire and extra chunky weight! I haven't gotten to spin in a couple of days, so I am anxious to get back on the wheel tonight.

| Donna, you and I are in the same boat! But it's getting better every time I sit down at the wheel. I have much, much better control over the wheel and fiber now. I could NOT go slower when I first started but now I can slow down when needed and actually start back up without going backwards! What's on the bobbin right now looks pretty darned good, if I do say so myself. Nellie and I are going to have a lot of fun making yarn. |
