though that covers quite a large area... I am looking for a spinning group to join in or near State College. The friend who is teaching me to spin doesn't know if her old spinning friends are still meeting (some were older and are gone now).

I live in SC Pennsylvania, and I am sure that's way too far for you! Have you tried Spin-Off? I know they used to have a yearly insert(?) in the magazine listing all spinning guilds.

Hey, Centre Hall is right next door and the home of a favorite LYS! (Actually, we only have two LYS and both get significant parts of my income.) And home to my dog's vet! So I would greatly appreciate some contact information for the Center Hall group.

isn't that the knitter's underground as the LYS? they were wonderful about spinning when they talked to me...

OK. I found the link I was looking for. Sent to me by my SO's parents. It has lots of different Pennsylvania Guilds on here. So it might come in handy sometime.

and here was centre hall's info. I know it says knitting guild.. but someone there must know how to spin. Sorry it isn't more specific with spinning:

Yup, that's my knitting guild. Growing by leaps and bounds and so far, I haven't heard of any spinners. I will ask at the January meeting. I had coffee with Kim, the contact person on the web page, just yesterday and she told me she had heard of a local spinning group and will send me info.

ah. sorry Rob. I was hoping it was.. well a both kinda guild.
I could have sworn when they sent the info to me it was spinning related. But when I re-found it it was knitting related. *sigh. Sorry again.
I got some fleece from a lovely woman up that way. When I unearth it after the holidays I'll PM you to see if she is close. OK?

As soon as the holly-daze is over I'll pull out that woman's name and contact info. :)
