I'm not a lopi yarn fan -- but love the striped pullover in the new pattern book. Looks like it would be the lopi lite -- so I could do it with a sub yarn if I was brave enough to tackle the color work on the yoke and sleeves. Maybe in the new year
Here's the link to have a look (#1 is the pullover, #19 looks interesting too) http://www.ramwools.com/images/newsletter/lopi25inside.jpg

It's insane that I still lust after Lopi 2 years after relocating from Chicago to almost-never-snows-land, but the Lopi Lite gives me *some* excuse! I love the stripey #1, too, and as it happens I'm just learning Fair Isle, from the Jamison's (Philosopher's Wool) website, http://www.philosopherswool.com/Pages/Streamingvideo.htm. I like the weaving method they teach compared to other tutorials, and it really doesn't seem too tough.

Probably any kind of light worsted wool would substitute nicely - elann.com and knitpicks both have worsted Peruvian wool, although the color palattes might not be able to reproduce quite the same look. Pricier Jaeger Baby Merino DK superwash would have some colors perfect for this one in those shades that *POP*, don't know what their colors are like in worsted.
