Sorry about not knowing the yardage, but there's nothing on the wrapper - just 50g. Its a Jaeger alpaca - recommended needles 3mm (that's 2-3US). So it is rather fine - I suppose what you might call a fingering weight. I was hoping to make Knitty's "Branching Out", but I'm sure this is too fine. Maybe a scarf but with an eyelet type pattern? Or a lacy caplet?

Any help is much appreciated.

No worries. I've decided on a scarf pattern from Summer VK 2005 - no. 35, the pink leaf one in a karabella silk. It's coming out fine. Looks lovely in the mag.
