Real laceweight, this stuff - doubled, I'd still use a 0 needle for anything "solid." I was going to make some Fair Isle gloves with it but am going with a different yarn for that, so ... suggestions? I should probably mention that lace shawls aren't, erm, quite my thing.

It's one skein of each (437 yds per skein) in Natural White, Natural Tan, Denim, and Black - they go quite well together and it's a nice mix because it would work with my black heavy coat as well as my brown suede jacket.

Photo of the yarn.

You could probably do a nice striped scarf - I would suggest knitting it sideways - so the the stripes run the length of the scarf. should be warm and cozy - and you could have fin varying the width of the stripes.

Or send me the yarn *grin* I have lots of people waiting for lace shawls.

There are some nice patterns for laceweight alpaca from this site:

There are several sweaters, scarves, a vest and a hat. I have ordered patterns from this company and they have good service. (NAYY). You might also be interested in the Mary Jane cardigan available from Knitpicks.
