I went to my local yarn store trying to find yarn for a project, but they didn't carry it and this yarn was on sale. My fiance, ever the enabler, convinced me to pick up all of the green left and figure out what to do with it later.
It is made out of 100% Peruvian Wool and it gets 5 stitches per inch on size 7 needles and 4.5 stitches on size 8 needles. I don't want to felt it or make something too basic like a scarf. Perhaps a simple garment or poncho? Any suggestions? |

Cascade Quatro felts beautifully, but you say you don't want to felt it or use it in a scarf so you only have around 660 yards right? How about wrist warmers aka fingerless gloves or mittens, leg warmers or warm thick socks? If you made a purse or hat I'd have to recommend felting it. And I know you said you don't want to make a scarf but there is a cool new wavy scarf design in the current issue of knitty.com that is very nice looking and uses Cascade 220, the sister yarn of Quatro.

| Hrm, that scarf is kind of cute. I didn't want to make on initially because I don't want to become bored with it, but that patterns seems to have enough change in it to keep me interested. Thanks for the suggestion. :D |

A lacey sleeveless shell, depending on your size. If you make an openwork pattern the yarn should "stretch" to last longer. Or a vest.
Come up with a stitch pattern (in lace or faggoting), using a provisional cast on, cast on what you want for the bust measurement and knit the top of the shell, front and back. Then go back, pick out the provisional cast on, put the live stitches on the needle and knit the pattern from the bottom down. This actually makes stitches 1/2 stitch off center (which I have never in my life noticed) but if that concerns you do two or three rounds/rows in plain knitting, then start the openwork again. Knit downward until you run out of yarn. If you really want to save yarn, work the top part back and forth and then work the bottom half in the round (no seams to weave). If you want to save even more yarn you can gently, slowly, increase needle sizes as you're working downward. That will give the shell a gentle trapeze shape and use less yarn.

I've started this scarf and it's actually keeping me interested... which rarely happens for me with scarves. It's turning out quite well.

| Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I'm pretty keen on the vest or Wavy scarf idea. I really like the vest look with a crisp button up shirt underneath it for work. |

| I'm glad to know the Cascade Quatro felts -- I bought some thinking it was Cascade 220 and planned to make the "initial bag" from SnB Nation. |
