I have only ordered from them on line but the wonderful thing about this store is if you see a particular yarn that you're interested in, you can buy 5 yards of it for 50 cents, up to 12 different yarns per order. I have NEVER seen more beautiful yarns anywhere & there is a percentage discount depending on the total amount (i.e. anything over $200 is 25% off). I only wish I lived there so I could visit the shop.

I am in Los Angeles, but I think I may have to fly up for the weekend just to visit all the great yarn shops. I definitely plan on a trip to Artfibers after reading the review.

I just took an adv beginner class at Artfibers. Took the mystery out of increases and decreases so I'm more than eager to start a simple sweater (sleeveless of course!). The staff are great and very helpful and their yarn is outta this world. Too bad I didn't discover them while I worked downtown, but then I know where I'd be spending my lunch money...

I dearly love Artfibers too. Love the swatches in every color, the labels that give you an idea of the cost of various projects in a given yarn, the very friendly staff...we are so lucky to have this unique store available to us. What a relief that I am not able to make it to San Francisco too often! The temptation would just be too great.

I'm in San Francisco on a business trip and had a few minutes to run into ArtFibers this afternoon. Luckily I only brought 1 small suitcase! Beautiful selection of yarns with their label.

I picked up 3 skeins of "Siam" a Brushed Tussah Silk at $10 for 165 yds. It's a thick/thin yarn with the thick being very loosly spun. I couldn't decide on 1 color so bought a tealy green, a limey green and an off white. I think all 3 will make a nice scarf/shawl.

I also figured I could find room in my suitcase for 2 skeins of "Chianti" a Pure New Shrink Resistand Italian Wool in a gorgeous dark red. 83 yds at $6.50

Des & I just stopped by ArtFibers yesterday... the person working there was so nice and friendly, I was really impressed... the yarns are beautiful, and of course all unique. Linda, I noticed Siam specifically... have you started your shawl?

So, two thumbs up, I'll be back... plus, when you're done splurging there, you can go right up the block and do it some more at Loehmann's ;-)

No Josh, haven't begun the shawl but I did find the perfect pattern, the Soy Shell Shawl in the latest Spin-Off. The shells are in 3 rows of 3 colors. Of course, they've spun and dyed the yarn themselves but I think mine will turn out almost as nice.
