Hi Everyone:
I have seen a lot of sweaters around town recently that are really very nice, and they look exceptionally easy. I'd love to make one, or more, but in different colours. It's made from cotton that is along the same size as sport weight yarn, but it's not as soft. I certainly wouldn't want to make socks out of the stuff, but it's nicely suited to a garment you would wear over another shirt.
They look like a round motif that has been repeated over and over, the sleeves and the bottom usually have a shallow scallop design, and all the motifs are joined by an open chainwork.
I tried to ask someone at my local yarn/pattern store if they had anything that would come close to something like this, but they looked at me like I had two heads.
If anyone has any ideas or if you know of a place I could get a pattern, I would truly appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks for reading!

No, I'm afraid those don't fill the bill. What I'm looking for really looks more like someone would be wearing part of a tablecloth. Sounds like a lame description, I know, but it's the best I can come up with. It's very open, therefore you would most sincerely need to have a tank-top or something else underneath it. I see a great many women wearing them as part of a casual/business outfit with a pair of good slacks. They're really quite nice and I desperately want to find a pattern for one.
Thanks for trying, though! |

Argus, I don't know which pattern Frustrated is looking for but the ones you posted are wonderful! Where to get the patterns and anyone that can translate them?
It will be fun to finally see what Frustrated has in mind, sometimes its so difficult to describe an "idea"....hope someone finds what she wants soon.

| I am new to this forum so I don't think that my previous attempt to post was successful. Here is a link to a website with lots of crochet sweater patterns including some lacy ones. I hope that you find what you are looking for. http://www.karpstyles.com/catalog.html?item=1419 |

This is close but not quite it but if you can find a sirdar pattern book I would say 2006 summer I think it has what you are looking for. You can also look at Patons they have some too. Good luck
