Hello friends, The scarf(my first knitting project) I started knitting did not turn out that long , instead it turned out wide
anyway, so i decided to make it a pillow case.so here is my plan 1) i will wash the knit piece and let dry 2) sew a piece of lining cloth behind it, with my sewing machine 3) trim out some sides of the knit piece to get a even edge. 4) sew the knit piece edges together to make it an actual pillow case.
the reason why i have to do some of the above steps is that my knit piece did not turn out to be perfect rectangle, instead it has jagged edges:)))
Since this is my first project, i do not want to do anything that i will regret later.can the experts suggest if any of my above processes are unnecessary or wrong.
You can actually even out those ragged edges with some careful blocking. I can't remember if Clara has an article here about blocking, but I would check that first. I know there is one on Knitty.com. (I'm not the best person to provide the instructions.) I would try blocking the piece before doing anything so drastic as cutting.
