I am buffaloed by switching between the knit/purl in one row technique. I think its got to do with bringing the yarn forward, so could someone give me directions about how to do this? Please?

Purlgrrl, Knit one....bring yarn forward....purl one....bring yarn back....knit one....bring yarn forward....purl one....etc. I believe you have to have an odd # of stitches for this to work???? Hey I gave some advice....shared my experience! I love this stitch.

Hi purlgrrl,

Vicki's got the right idea. I would just add...

Pass the yarn between the needles. That way, you're not creating a bunch of yarnovers. (Sorry if that's too obvious... I was just re-living my earliest moments trying to knit.)

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

So sorry! I guess I should stick to asking for advice instead of giving it! I don't know how to convey what I mean in writing...maybe when I gain more experience......

I'm glad you figured it out. Doesn't it feel good when you finally get it! I love seed/moss stitch. I have been using it on sweaters instead of other types of trims. It looks good. Now if I could just finish one big project I'd be happy!!!!

Yes, I've got an idea- knit my newest design, a seed stitch pencil-toting bookmark in the strap style!!!! Sounds kewel, does it not, lol!!!!
I'll get the pattern up here and stick a picture somewhere if someone tells me that they want it.
