These knitted hats by Marc Jacobs were all over the Runway this year & retail for the ridiculous price of $400. Marc Jacobs' "Kublakhan hat" is pictured well here: pret-a-porter.com & his "big rib beanie" is shown here:fashion-era.com. Anyone out there tried to copy these hats or know of a similiar hat pattern or ideas about what kinda huge chunky yarn was used to create these really simple designs??? I'm just a beginner and really need to follow a pattern, to know what kinda yarn and needles etc. Most of the big chunky yarn sold is still not as chunky as the yarn used in his hats (made in Romania).The detective in me wants to know how to get the same exact looking hats and the only person I have found who copied them using Big Bear yarn...her design was just not the same not as wide and tight which I assume is because she didn't use the right yarn. Help!
