Hi All,

I'm designing a pattern that I'd like to submit to either Knitty or Magknits. Now Knitty says to use a commercially available yarn. So my question is: Is Henry's Attic Kona (both the dk and fingering) considered "commercially available" yarns? Or are they looking for things like Debbie Bliss, Elann, Cascade, etc? Obviously, I should just email them, but I figured I'd ask here.. :D

After following the BW's stich book discussion, I'm curious. If I use a stitch pattern, for example "Roman Stripe", in my pattern I would obviously state in references that I used this, would I still need to contact Schoolhouse Press and tell them?

Hugs,
tammy

I googled "Henry's Attic" and it seems to be readily available, so it's ok to use it in your design for, say, Knitty. "Commercially available" means that people should be able to buy the yarn w/o major problems. Your SIL's homespun that she gives to friends and family but doesn't sell would NOT qualify. lol
Not too sure about copyright for stitches, though.

Thanks, Mickey! :D I think I'll probably do like another poster did in the other thread, contact them with what I'm doing. :)
