I'm looking for people who would like to get together to knit and talk and learn from each other. I would prefer to do this during the day (I'm retired) because I have many activities already going on at night.

Hi Carol,
I visit my DD in Mesa, AZ--that's not far from Chandler. There is a wonderous LYS in Mesa called the Fiber Factory. They offer all kinds of classes, you might check with them. They may know of any knit groups in the area.
Good Luck.

Welcome, Carol. What yarn shops do you enjoy out there. I've visited Phoenix several times and I like Arizona Knitting and Needlecrafts on Goldwater and Bonnie's in Carefree. I only spent a few minutes in the Fib er Factory as DH was with me that day, but I would love to go back. I may make it back out there in June as DH has a meeting -- so I get the car and go on a yarn crawl!

Hi Carol, I am Rose from Tempe. I work part time for US AIRWAYS. I learned knitting by taking a class at Michaels. My teacher,Terry, later opened her own shop. Tempe Yarn & Fiber 1435 University (near McClintock) Tempe 480-557-9166 She has open knitting on Tuesdays evenings, but you can go in and knit any time you want......no problem. You can even get help with a project or get a stitch picked up!!! Sometimes we meet and at a local coffee shop or Borders.
I have only been knitting a short time and am still a little "green" Nice to chat.... Rose |

Thanks for info, Rose. I've never been to the Tempe Yarn and Fiber shop. I work in Phoenix and live in Gilbert.

| I'm part of a group of fiberholics, mostly knitters but spinners, weavers and crocheters as well. It's the Queen Creek Yarn Yankers and we meet the 3rd Saturday of each month. We meet at the San Tan Historical Society at Ellsworth and Rittenhouse roads at 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hope to see you there![purple] |
