I'm making a tychus hat but using a different stitch and gauge. Let me know what you think.

Hi, Charles-- Okay, call me ignorant, but I don't know what a tychus hat is or where you got the pattern. (All I can think of is the astronomer Tycho Brahe, who is often pictured wearing a puffy velvet beret and the disease typhus, which doesn't sound like much of an inspiration for a hat.)
Also, we could answer more helpfully if you told us the recommended stitch and yarn and how you intend to vary them.
Thanks knitasha for answering Kimkrafy's question. Thinking of Tycho Brahe and typhus don't drum up much in the way of a knitted hat image. I don't know where the original designer came up with the name.
