I'm making a tychus hat but using a different stitch and gauge. Let me know what you think.

Hi, Charles--
Okay, call me ignorant, but I don't know what a tychus hat is or where you got the pattern. (All I can think of is the astronomer Tycho Brahe, who is often pictured wearing a puffy velvet beret and the disease typhus, which doesn't sound like much of an inspiration for a hat.)

Also, we could answer more helpfully if you told us the recommended stitch and yarn and how you intend to vary them.

Tychus is a pattern from Knitty. It's a hat knit using short rows.

Thanks knitasha for answering Kimkrafy's question. Thinking of Tycho Brahe and typhus don't drum up much in the way of a knitted hat image. I don't know where the original designer came up with the name.
