Yahoo puts all spam messages into a spam folder, and then deletes them after 30 days. If they block any legitimate messages from KR, the messages will end up in the user's spam folder. People can then mark messages in their spam folders as "not spam", which should start delivering KR mail to the inbox again. The same is true for Gmail as well.

Do you mean to tell me that Mr. Douglas Amed, whose poor father was poisoned by his unscrupulous business associates, is not going to give me $950,000.00 in return for my generous help?
Bummer.
I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this, Clara. The least Mr. Douglas Ahmed could do is cut you a slice of the money pie! [**]

Oh, you mean I won't be getting my money?? [blush]
But seriously, some time ago there was a story either on radio or TV, I can't remember which, about these scams, and part of it was about some guy who actually fell for it. Apparently he flew to South Africa to get the money, and was picked up at the airport by the scammers. They took him to a house, and then told him they needed $2000 for some reason. I don't remember the details of why, but he withdrew the money and gave it to them. I wish I could remember the entire thing, I don't, but I do remember that he went along for quite a while before realizing the truth. I geuss that is what greed can do to a person.

| Is anyone else starting to have ANY computer problems after you got that fraudulent e-mail? My computer worked just fine yesterday and started to have problems maybe 4 hrs afterwards. It is much slower today, the web pages either load or not, had trouble opening my e-mail, etc. My programs either open or not. I also have trouble closing them. My husband's comupter does not have this problem so I gather it is not the internet provider's problem. |

Hi,
I have noticed that my computer is much slower, I just thought it was my son downloading stuff on the other one.
I guess I'll have to reformat it.

I got an email purporting to be from paypal about my account with them today. I am nearly certain that I read a few weeks or months ago that emails of this type--telling you someone tried to access your paypal account and offering a link to go update your information is, infact, a fraud--a phishing expedition.
I suspect that the scam emails sent out yesterday from MarryDikko and her brother were a way of tracking email addresses so that, upset by the scam, we would be more likely to respond to the paypal email and update credit card information.
I may be wrong, but I would urge people not to respond to the paypal email until after you contact paypal yourself if you have an account.

Hey Jane - I told Mr. Amed that since I'd be seeing you at the Retreat in a few weeks, that I'd be HAPPY to deliver your share to you. He was most agreeable!
