Hi All,
The search feature kept timing out on me, I was trying to search "tennessee" in the forum....since it wasn't working for me, I'll have to put up a new post.
Are there any knitters in Kingsport, Tennessee?? I'm going to be moving there soon, and I would like to either join a knitting group, or if there isn't one, to start one up!

Hi Angie,
I have that timing-out problem too. Try clicking "Subject Only" instead of "Entire Message", and the timing-out will be solved.
When I searched with the word "Tennessee", I found your post and one other. You might try a PM to the other person who posted. I know there is someone here who is from the Knoxville area, but can't think of her user name.

So you're moving to Kingsport! I live in Johnson City, which is about 20 miles alway. I'm not sure about yarn shops in Kingsport, but in Johnson City on Watauge Ave. there's a cute little yarn shop in a neat old house -- called Yarntiques. They have a website http://yarntiques.com/ You might want to check it out. They have classes and porch knitting and such at various times. I've never been to the groups, but everytime I'm in there buying yarn, there's always a group around the table knitting! I also found out about a really neat place when I was at a farmer's market at the Gray Fairgrounds. These people who were selling their produce raise alpacas and llamas and the lady was spinning there at the fairgrounds. She gave me her card (although I've not yet attended), but knitters meet at their farm on the first Wednesday of the month from 11-3 (brown bag for lunch). Her name is Joanne and she lives in Church Hill. The email address is rjranch@chartertn.net
I checked out your blog pictures and WOW you're doing really great stuff. I'm currently working on a sweater for my grandson and I just hope he doesn't outgrow it before I get it finished!
What's bringing you to Kingsport? I think you'll really like the area. |

Hi kathyvlittle
sorry it took so long for me to reply. I have been searching the job boards and such, and I may be moving somewhere like Johnson City, basically in the tri-cities area.....if I can't find a job there then it'll be closer to Knoxville, I think it's a fairly large city? Which I don't want to do, because I really like Kingsport, but then again I really haven't been anywhere else but there. Anyway, my bf is retiring from military service and wants to move back home (kingsport)....I'll have to check out that farmer's market you said in Gray, that sounds interesting.
Maybe we can start a knitting group!

| Well.. if you do have to move to Knoxville instead of Kingsport, don't fret - we've got a great knitting group started with meetings all over town for convenience. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/knoxvillesnb/ |

Hi!
I'm in knoxville also, we have SnB meetings all over town. Knoxville isn't a huge city, but pretty spread out, so it's very convenient for everyone depending on where you are.
Hope you get settled soon!
