Hello,

I'm a newbie designer, and I'm working on a rectangular shawl pattern. I want a border to wrap around the full shawl, with a cable pattern incorporated. I'm not sure how to "turn" the corners of the border (short rows?), while keeping the cable pattern intact...

Any suggestions?

Also, when designing shawls and lace patterns, do you normally just include the charts, or do you find that knitters like having the line-by-line written instructions too?
