Tink Unknitting stitch by stitch. Compare with frog stitch. Term invented by Wendy Chatley Green's husband, who observed that "knit" spelled backwards is "tink."
I found this on woolworks.org, it's not mine! But I like the word and I'm gonna start using it!
I'm on the last sleeve of my Jean Frost jacket (no, I didn't get it done in two weeks like I wanted to) and I seem to be doing a lot of tinking! And frogging..sigh

I tink, therefore I am--maybe.
Does anyone know where the term "frogging" originated? Possibly a row of loops off needle looks like a series of frogs (fasteners made of fabric)?
Some of us might be reluctant to throw our work out of a hi-rise. A needle might puncture a passerby. But we could use a new word for our frustrated weeping and moaning after we notice the error we made 44 rows ago.
