I am wanting to make a "felted" headband for keeping my ears warm when the wind is blowing at those fall football games.
I know it would be a simple matter to make a band, but how would I determine the number I stitches to cast on to get the right size after felting?

Or can anyone point me in the direction of a pattern?

Knit one, Felt Too has a pattern for a headband - I've lent my book out so I don't have the details. It may be available at your local library.
