I don't seem to be able to do a direct link to the multimedia slide show, but you can access it from here:

Just follow the picture of the black and white and grey "Boyfriend Ts" and keep on clicking through the show!

What I liked were the "woven" flower pins -- they looked knitted to me.

Don't get me wrong, I love the NYTimes, but they are seriously fiber impaired. The Ferragamo knitted bag is "hand crocheted", the crocheted flowers are "hand woven." At least they knew the needles were knitting needles, not crochet hooks or turkey basters.

What a disappointment to see those hand knitted (crocheted?) pins described as hand woven. As a weaver, I am always offended when garments are described as woven when they are actually machine knit. Kudos though to the NYT for 3 features this week on the fiber arts. Habu Textiles was described in the Thursday Home section and today had the pins in question and the lighted knitting needles. I doubt anyone would attempt a sweater in the dark with those needles but they might be useful on a simpler project.

I assure you the NYT, while it may well be knit-impaired, did not do the copy on that Ferragamo "hand-knitted" bag. That came from the Ferragamo ad agency or the company itself. That one in particular irked me more than the rest, probably because of the price.

I love the crocheted!flower pins. I am glad that anyone who doesn't make her own can get them for a good cause. Thanks for writing in about this, i would not have seen it.
