Also, what would the other fisherman say if you turned up in the version with the claw hands? Maybe they were added to stop the model from being able to use her hands to feed herself?
What would chairs look like if our knees bent the other way? |

You can also get very puffy cables by doing the crosses frequently. For example, instead of crossing a cable of 6 stitches every 8 rows, cross it every 4.
I also think you could do a cable making a bobble in the center of each side but I haven't swatched that. Something like 1--p3,k8, p3 2--k3,p8,k3 repeat rows 1 and 2 3--p3, bobble over 4 stitches twice, p3 4--k3,p8,k3 5--p3,k8,p3 6--k3,p8,k3
WARNING--I have not test knit this. I'm just thinking off the top of my head.

It looks like a fun knit, probably just the two cable patterns, huge yarn, huge needles. And Mary, I knit the Cables from Hell cardigan- wasn't half the challenge they made it out to be. The yarn was super bulky and has long since been unavailable - I hated it and gave it away. Dicksie

Ah, Dicksie, but do you still have the pattern? Now, it's a quest just to see the d*mned thing! No swatch yet, mulling over gauge/ndl. size. Oh, and working on UFOs that DO exist.

I just knitted up a swatch and it's on my blog(if Blogger is cooperating). I'm getting there.

I'm offer to order mine. NOT. Are they crazy $2250 for a sweater. Now don't get me wrong I have spent some serious cash for sweaters in the past but never anywhere near this amount. This was pre-sweater knitting days. I will wait for the ripoff pattern and make it.

Dicksie, if you're up for it would you mind sending it to me via e-mail? The cat in me has to satisfy her curiosity. I'll pm you, ok?
Wanda, I'm planning to work up a simplified version for myself, possibly for public consumption(!). I'll let you know when I've got something roughed out. I'm convinced VK will come out with it for Fall 06. But I don't want the smaller cables, just the big ones, with a bit more shaping.
