Thank you so much, Leanne! I'm in Vancouver for a conference that my DH is presenting a paper at, and was wondering what to do with the time he'll be tied up - I'm going to the Fibrefest!
I'm going to take a spinning alpaca class on Friday, and will probably go back on Saturday morning to see the vendors and events. What is "knit on" - is it an organized thing or related to the website you mention? The lady I spoke to about the class was so nice, she's going to provide me with a loaner wheel for the class.
Do I need to plan on bringing home lots of goodies?
I'm so glad you are able to come. The "knit on" is a very casual opportunity for knitters to learn and share. I proposed the idea ("knit on") to Marilyn, the organizer of the festival, yesterday. So we are still in the planning stages but be assured that we will be ready for you. My idea is to run the event much like a "Knit out". I chose "Knit on" because I didn't want to run into any problems with the CYCA. There is also a wonderful fashion show planned which I hope to take in. I will also be a vendor. Due come on by and we will have a nice long chat. The web site - www.oknitting.com - is mine. I am a knitwear designer. I love to knit and am looking forward to meeting many other knitters. If you have any other questions please ask - I will be happy to answer them or direct them to someone who can. I look forward to seeing you at the festival.
Just to keep you up-to-date, we are all ready for you. The "Knit on" will be held on Saturday and Sunday. First there will be a popular and useful demo on knitting socks followed by the "Knit On". Happy knitting!
