I think I knit faster when frustrated. Last night I had to rip 16 rows. I re-knit them in probably 1/2 to 2/3 the time it took the first time. And I also think I knit tighter when upset. I can look at a piece of knitting and see very slight variations and know when they happened. But they are so slight as to not be noticed by anyone else. And most of my knitting at those times is just for me. It helps release the negativity and then I feel a lot better. The finished object seems to retain the good more than the bad. It is a happy thing.

Take care!

I know I knit both faster and more precisely when I'm irritated. I try not to knit at all when angry anymore - I had to rip out most of a sock awhile back because I could not match the tension on the second sock! My DH doesn't tease me about it, but my DS has been known to check out my knitting before asking me something - especially if he thinks he might be in the doghouse!

I will knit fast if someone upsets me while I'm knitting. If and stressed out I tend to knit very tight.

I'm definately a tighter knitter when stressed out. I haven't noticed a speed difference but I'll be watching for it from here on out.
