A new shop opened recently here, about an hour south of L.A., close to John Wayne (Orange County) Airport. It's called The Sheared Sheep (www.theshearedsheep.com) and it's exceedingly lovely. Mostly natural fibers, and a tiny bit of acrylics, but what they do have is nice and not overwhelming. Everything from Manos to Cascade to a gorgeous kid silk (Kid Seta from Italy) that I bought for a birch shawl (started it yesterday). The owner is Lisa Kolbly, a sweet and helpful young woman. I love the place--can you tell? It has such a great selection of yarns, I can't wait to return.

Thanks for posting the new LYS, Barbara! I live in Foothill Ranch (just south of Irvine/Lake Forest) and I love checking out new sources for yarn!

Oh my--that's only about 10 minutes from my work. . . but will I ever come back from lunch???
