Has anyone made this sweater? The photo is so dark that I can't see details. I've been looking for a pattern and really nice yarn for a sweater for my dh.

It sounds wonderful but it would cost me about $300. Maybe with a different yarn ...

Polly,
Could you knit it with Lamb's Pride instead?

There is a correction for this sweater at the interweave website. The pattern appears in WINTER 2000/2001 magazine.

I've just discovered this pattern, too, and think I want to make it for my husband, but can't afford anything close to cashmere. I'm wondering what else might work.

Since I've never used anything like cashmere, I'm wondering...is cashmere super-light (weight-wise, I mean)?

I substituted yarn on another sweater I made for my husband, and the finished garment was extraordinarily heavy, which distorted the shape of the sweater! I don't want to do that again!

Any suggestions for a nice, light (if that's what cashmere is) sport-weight yarn for that beautiful cabled sweater?

Thanks.

Change in plans--we're going with IK's "Rhapsody in Tweed," which calls for Tahki's Donegal Tweed. I can't wait to start--the yarn has all kinds of yummy bits of color. Yahoo!

That is a lovely pattern. Thanks for pointing it out. But somebody needs to tell that model to stop leaning on that rough tree bark in the ca$hmere sweater!

I wonder how "Week-End" by Plassard would work. I found it at http://www.yarndex.com/yarn.cfm?yarn_id=714. It has nice colores and I'd like something not too heavy since we are in the South ...

I made this one in the sport weight Misti Alpaca. Turned out gorgeous. :)
