| So I got one of those Interweave Knits free gift issue things in the mail, and decided to send it in, because I always end up buying the magazine anyways. Right after I sent it in, I realized that I already owned the Fall issue. So I got on the computer and emailed customer service. After they got my card and checked my name (over the course of about five emails) I received one final email stating that my first issue would be the Winter 05 issue, and it would take 6-8 weeks to come. So alright, that's great, I was happy. Until today. Mail comes... hey! There's my IK! But wait a minute, the Winter Issue doesn't come out until December. Yep, they sent me the fall issue. Oh well. I sent them an email explaining the situation, forwarding a transcript of my past correspondences, and telling them that I would happily send my Fall issue back if I could get the Winter issue when it comes out. I don't know, it just bothers me somehow. But if we can sort it all out, I'll be happy, and either way I still love the magazine, so... |

| This is a frequent complaint/occurence/thread here on the KR forums. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will adjust things for you. They are pretty good about that except! that it takes a very long time to get the right copy. You might end up getting the winter issue closer to the release date of the spring issue. |

I just got a subscription/free issue offer card in the mail for IK the other day. but I don't subscribe to any knitting magazines, so how did they get my address? Knit Picks, I'm looking in your direction, since you're the only knitting business out there that would have my address...[**]
I'm just not on board with the practice of direct marketers selling customer lists.

Retro Chicky- same thing that happened to me!
Update: I received a reply from the same guy at customer service I talked to before. Apparently, he already switched it so that the Winter issue will be my first "real" issue. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I JUST GOT THE FALL ISSUE, and I HAVEN'T subscribed. I'm hoping he meant that it was all a mistake and he just, not already, changed my subscription. |
