I'm looking for a good source for wholesale or inexpensive undyed superwash sock yarn. It seems to be a pretty rare commodity on the web. I found a bit to dye, which you can see at my shop: http://twowaters.etsy.com

The problem is that Henry's Attic is not exactly inexpensive, and I would have to charge unduly high prices for the handdyed sock yarn I would produce from it.

I don't know what Henry's Attic's wholesale prices are, but I found this http://www.discountyarnsale.com/pd_henrys_attic_kona.cfm
It doesn't seem too bad. I sell a similar weight for dyeing on my LanasdeLibelula site (1750 yards per pound vs. 1960 ypp Henry's Attic, both classified as fingering weight despite a whole sock's worth of difference between them) for $20 for an eight ounce dyeing skein, and that's $5.55 (20%) off the suggested retail price.
Even wholesale these yarns are surprisingly expensive, and wholesale accounts can be expensive to set up, plus you often have to go through an application process.
I have to admit, I started my business thinking, I HAVE to be able to supply it for less, there's no way it really has to cost so much. But even an online shop, the time, the business fees, all these add up, so I've been surprised by not being able to be as cheap as I wanted to be. Materials and time and shipping...well, you know since you are a fiber artist too, it all adds up and handpainted sock yarn is a luxury knitting item. Thankfully, I think Koigu really opened up the market for handpainted fingering weight at a price we can be happy with. We'll never be able to compete with Knitpicks or handpainted.com's out of country labor prices, but we can produce stuff we love at a price we can live with. At least, I hope.
Anyway, if you are interested, you can e-mail me and I can give you a discount of 30% off the suggested retail if you buy ten skeins or more (17.88/ 875 yds). Take care, (your colors are lovely) Wendy

Thanks, I may take you up on that if I get some more orders coming in. I'm really enjoying this new business, but I'm only just learning the ropes.
