| I'm wondering if anyone got the replacement cables for their Denise needle set, and whether or not it's a big improvement on the old cables? Is it easy to slide the stitches along the cables on smaller needle sizes like size 5?? |

Hi, Mtchen and welcome to the forums. I don't have Denise needles but there is a place here on the forums that you could contact. Try going through the search mode. I have the Boye set and have hat it for at least 400 years minimum. Take care and good luck. Beverley
PS: Just noted the slipping stitches on small needles on the cable. I presume you mean the circular cable and they always slip easily just as long as you don't pull them too tight--same as with straight needles.

I assume you are talking about the cables Denise is replacing because of the "sticky" problem? I ordered replacements for my "sticky" cables from Emily Krag, who is the now owner of Denise, on Tuesday of this week. She was very nice about it and is more worried about her customers than the hassle this must be for her and her mom. She said not only was the material the cables made from very "sticky", but some of the cables were just plain too big. She said they have changed manufacturers and the new cables are in so they will be sending them out immediately.
That said, I've not received them yet, but expect to within a few days. As soon as I do, I'll check them out and let you know what I think!

I received my replacement cables today, and they are definately less grabby. I've only tried them on some handspun Icelandic and Noro Cotton Iroha, but both yarns slid along much better than previously. Also, to the naked eye they do look just a little smaller - sort of as if the cables had been shrunken just slightly at the connector joins. I hadn't really thought they were too big before, but I'm sure these will be a little better. I don't think that the cables need to be too small anyway, as the needles don't go down to really small sizes.
What a great company for service - a nice note cam with the replacements. I'm really happy that I bought this set.
