I've finally posted (on my blog) my report about the MAFA conference held last weekend, where I took 12 hours of blissful spinning clases. Right away I realized I'd forgotten to tell about a new video I picked up there. It's called Spindles Around the World and it's put out by the Copper Moose folk. I just watched it last night and quite enjoyed it. I am always on the look-out for instructional videos. I learned to spindle with Melba Montgomery's video and still think it is the better of the two for a true rank beginner with no one around to help him get started. But this one has demos of several kinds of spindles, including the whorl-less Russian spindle used to spin that lace yarn. It had some good advice on how to pick a spindle, how to make a spindle and how to alter one that is poorly balanced.
You little sneak - I was just there moments ago and you've updated since!
So glad you had such a time - you deserve it! Great report!
