Posted - 11/16/2011 : 10:19:49 PM I don't know about you, but I'm totally in denial about the holidays this year. Specifically in terms of gift knitting.
Which is why I'm so enthralled with Rowan Kidsilk Creation. I know it's not "real" knitting, exactly...but in less than an hour, once you figure out how you're supposed to do it, you can make a very pretty ruffled scarf out of one of the most perennially popular yarns on the market - Kidsilk Haze.
It's a limited-edition product, but I think it could come in handy this season. Here's my review.

Posted - 11/18/2011 : 08:29:57 AM There is also a similar product from Berroco called Lacey. It wouldn't be as soft as Kidsilk, but it has a different construction and the finished scarf looks more like lace. They have a free "pattern" on their website. Lots of colors too. |

Posted - 11/17/2011 : 8:19:31 PM Evidently, you struck a chord with many busy knitters. I decided to get a couple of colors, only to find most sites I looked at had it back ordered. Jimmy Beans Wool still had 4 colors to choose from (and I had a free shipping coupon - woohoo!)
Thanks for the enabling, by the the way. DH may not appreciate it, but I do!

Posted - 11/17/2011 : 07:54:00 AM Clara, does it matter what size needles you use? Thanks for the review, I am also going to make several for Christmas gifts! Sharon |

Posted - 11/17/2011 : 05:13:13 AM I love this! I have a big family, all of whom have come to love hand-knits, and I always end up scrambling to make presents for everyone. Even if I switch off and knit for the women one year and the men the next, it's still hard to cover everyone. This, this is doable, and I think the finished scarves are lovely.
Thanks for the review, Clara!
