Posted - 07/03/2011 : 11:24:33 AM Say, is anyone going to be inclined to buy less yarn, now that CT is taxing it?
I confess that it's not going to affect me at all - yarn addict that I am!

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 11:36:15 AM Yarn is not taxed in PA if it is for making clothing. Clothing is not taxed in PA. Yarn is taxed if it is for, say, wash cloths or miscellaneous uses. So, here, be sure and say it is for socks or a sweater, etc.
One shop was charging tax on all yarn and I called and checked, with the tax authorities, at the State. Then I went to the store and told her. She argued with me but agreed to check. She found out I was right! Hey, every penny adds up!
Sharon in NW PA I always wanted my own library but I didn't realize it would be all knitting books!
