Posted - 11/14/2012 : 9:59:22 PM I just started my very first fair isle piece. I have always been pretty intimidated by the idea of it. Turns out its not as difficult as I thought! It's actually pretty fun! I'm about 1/3 of the way through my first project and I am already planning more.
By the way, what I'm working on is a houndstooth clutch. Basic black and white. I wanted to change it up with a neon, but was too afraid. Maybe next time. |

Posted - 11/15/2012 : 2:34:37 PM It would be simple to make it neon, yes. I was just wanted to make sure the houndstooth actually looked like houndstooth. :) Hope that makes sense. And I will be sure to get a pic posted ASAP. Should be done in a week or so. |

Posted - 11/15/2012 : 04:59:03 AM Hey LRiff, you are doing well. Lots of things turn out to be easier than we thought. Congratulations. Don't forget to post a picture when you have finished it. If you know you have to do that, then it will force you to do the yukkie sewing up and lining it bit. My Mum used to like knitting fair isle and so does my daughter. I have never tried it. Of course you will be able to knit a neon easily. It is just a different coloured yarn isn't it? You could knit a test patch to see how it looks and if it looks ghastly you can bin it.
