Posted - 11/11/2012 : 08:18:02 AM I actually had to pack for "desert island" almost two years ago when we moved from N.Y., where LYSs are plentiful and the rest of the yarn is just a UPS delivery away to Israel. I was warned that that good wool was impossible to get here and shipping was very expensive. So I bought as much as I could and took it with me. I ended up buying lots of Noro mainly Silk Garden and Kureion. All Babu Ull I could get. Lots of Swish Superwash from Knit Picks (WW and DK) And lots of sock yarn. Stroll, Opal and Regia plus many skeins of beautiful PennyRose yarn. Well, two years later I am almost out of Swish. Need to get more somehow. And I wish I bought more blue wool.

Posted - 11/12/2012 : 8:52:09 PM Surely you have friends coming to visit you who can bring a bunch along? Find what you want on the Internet, have them order it in the US and then they can bring it to you and you pay them for it. (Ummm, use PayPal.) Best of all, they'll have room for souvenirs to take home.
Ceil (Ravelry: ceilr) Time is never a factor when joy is involved. |
